Key themes of communication, adaptability and creativity were mentioned throughout the event. Chris highlighted the difficulty in obtaining funding for communication work and emphasised the need for it, especially now to counteract far-right propaganda and misinformation. He mentioned the need for robust infrastructure, including a strategic approach and a rapid education mechanism to combat far-right messaging around important topics such as Net Zero.
Chris also mentioned his involvement with the Climate Emergency Fund and highlighted the importance of direct action in climate activism being adaptable and responsive to the changing legal and societal attitudes towards protest.
The session concluded with Chris reminding funders that ‘winning is not giving up’ and to keep going against adversity.
