When we hear about climate change forcing people from their homes, most of us think about other countries. But across the UK, people are already being displaced, by extreme flooding, coastal erosion and heatwaves.
This issue sits in plain sight and there is a growing sense of urgency among policy-makers and communities. We now need a shared language, assessment of the risks, and strategies for action.
This event launched a review of climate-linked displacement in the UK, written by Ruth Grove-White and Liz Gadd. We heard key insights into how climate change is displacing UK communities and explored the collective responses that are needed now.
