Join us for a conversation with the Society for Indigenous Languages, Communities and Cultures (SILCC), a Sierra Leone-based organisation working at the intersection of indigenous knowledge, language preservation and environmental conservation. Through community-led initiatives, SILCC demonstrates how protecting indigenous languages and cultural heritage can strengthen stewardship of forests, biodiversity and natural resources.
This session will explore the links between culture and conservation, the value of locally-led approaches, and what funders can learn from organisations embedding environmental action within Indigenous communities.
