EFN asks participating foundations, trusts and individuals to pay a voluntary membership fee, with fees suggested on a sliding scale related to total annual environmental grantmaking.
EFN is a lean operation, with just 1.8 FTE staff and the costs associated with EFN events and research. A core group of foundations provided the bulk of the income needed to sustain the network over its first 12 years; the membership fee was introduced in 2015 in an effort to spread the costs of the network more evenly.
As we expect these fees to cover only around half of EFN’s annual operating budget, we will continue to ask for and welcome grants that exceed these voluntary contributions. Continued grant income will ensure that EFN can go on supporting our vibrant group of trusts, foundations and individuals working to ensure a healthy environment for everyone.
How to Pay
We ask for payment annually in April via cheque or BACS transfer. Instructions for both can be found here.
